The oat groat is the whole oat kernel before it is flaked (making it a ‘rolled oat’).  Wholesome, nutritious and naturally gluten free, cook oat groats as you would rice with 2 parts water to 1 part grain and use for pilafs, soups, and grain salads. Best if stored in an air tight container in the freezer or use right away; pre-soak for a shorter cooking time.
